Single hung balance rods in Weston, Florida

Balance rod replacement on PGT single hung windows in Weston community.

Single hung balance rods keep the window open when the bottom window sash is lifted open. If the window sash slams down immediately both of the balance rods are no longer working properly. Balance springs can lose their tension when closed for long periods of time. Opening the windows every once in a while can lengthen their lifespan. When only one of the two balance rods goes bad on a PGT single hung window the sash will bind in the frame and get stuck. It is always recommended to replace both balance rods when there is a problem opening the window. PGT single hung windows used a spiral balance rod where Lawson windows use a block and tackle type balance spring lift. It is our recommendation to replace the sash guides located at the top left and right corners of the bottom vent of the single hung window.
